At 537 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong thunderstorms near Rowan, or 17 miles east of Elizabethtown, moving northeast at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Elizabethtown, Rowan, Penderlea, Point Caswell, Lagoon, Rooks, Malpass Corner, Willard, Currie, Wards Corner, White Lake, Atkinson, Watha, and Bladen County Hospital. This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 389 and 394.
