Leaker Kepler_L2 posted on NeoGAF that the PlayStation 6’s RAM and NAND storage alone cost “over $680,” responding to a user who questioned an earlier cost estimate and suggested Sony might subsidise the console to launch at $680. Kepler_L2, whose past hardware claims have proven accurate, previously estimated the console’s total bill of materials at around $760. In June, the same source said the bill of materials had risen to near $1,000.
