All operations are pending weather and outcome of initial test burns.We are planning to conduct a prescribed burn on May 14 in the Moquah Barrens in Bayfield County, Wisconsin. We plan to burn Northwest Sands Block I, 1934 acres North and East of Forest Road 241.There are additional burns that have occurred this week in the Moquah Barrens.May 12 & 13 - Northwest Sands Block A (subunits 2, 3, 4), 923 acres in Bayfield County, Adjacent to Forest Road 241 and Bailey Lake Road. May 16 - Northwest Sands Block H Unit 8, 251 acres in Bayfield County, North of Forest Road 448 and east of Forest Road 423. Forest visitors can expect to see smoke and fire management personnel in the area throughout the week.
