Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to provide assistance in the form of additional firefighters, aircraft and heavy equipment. Texas A&M Forest Service is in unified command with the Amarillo Fire Department. This fire is located in northeast Amarillo. Forward progression of the fire has been stopped as of 4:45 PM. 4/27/26 - 8:00 PM - The fire is 100% contained, this is the last planned update for this fire. Engines have completed mop-up and there are no smokes showing along the engine. The fire has been turned over to the Amarillo Fire Department. The voluntary evacuation that was issued by the Amarillo Area Office of Emergency Management for the NE 24th and Grand area has been lifted.
