AI Summary

"Route 66," a mid‑century adventure series, distinguished itself with weighty contemporary themes and a quasi‑anthology structure that set it apart from other 1960s shows. The program is credited with helping spawn an iconic 1980s action hero, though it has long been overlooked. Prime Video has now revived the series, bringing the once‑forgotten adventure back to viewers. The revival highlights how adventure series, unlike Westerns or fantasy sitcoms, have largely vanished from modern television despite occasional genre revivals such as Indiana Jones in film.
