Ever the Imax advocate, Christopher Nolan recalled introducing Ryan Coogler to the high-res format.
AI Summary
Christopher Nolan's endorsement of Imax technology has been well-documented, and it appears he played a role in convincing Ryan Coogler to use the format for his 2025 film Sinners. Nolan reportedly assured Coogler that using Imax for Sinners was not an unconventional decision, despite the challenges it may have presented. This endorsement likely carried significant weight, given Nolan's own history of pushing the boundaries of cinematic technology. Coogler's decision to use Imax for Sinners ultimately paid off, as the film's cinematographer, Autumn Durald Arkapaw, received an Academy Award for Best Cinematography.
